Lesson Plans

This lesson was taught to 10th graders and they incorporated geometric shapes, color schemes and repetition in these glass compositions. They were then made functional and used as night light covers to show the appealing characteristics of translucent, transparent and opaque glass.

The 9th graders in this class created wonderful foam plates and an edition of 5 prints (colored and black and white) using a variety of line, shape and they really caught on quickly to the relief form of printmaking. They had some trouble understanding the reversing aspect of printmaking; that a mark will create a white area (negative space)  and a place left alone will create a dark/black area (positive space). They also enjoyed learning how to write backwards as to preserve the legibility of text.
